You can now add header images to your events on Smoke Signal! These images appear at the top of your event page and help make your events more visually appealing and engaging.
Note: While the functionality is ready to go, we’re still working on the user interface for uploading images. For now, header images work through our backend systems.
Image Guidelines
Size and Shape
Your header image needs to be in a 16:9 aspect ratio (basically the same shape as a widescreen TV). Think of it like a movie poster turned sideways!
- Minimum size: 1344 pixels wide by 756 pixels tall
- Maximum width: 12,000 pixels (though most images won’t need to be nearly this large)
- File size: Keep it under 1 MB
Supported Formats
We support these common image types:
- JPEG (.jpg files)
- PNG (.png files)
- WebP (.webp files)
What Happens If My Image Doesn’t Meet the Requirements?
Don’t worry - if your image doesn’t fit the guidelines above, the system will simply skip it and your event will display normally without a header image. No errors or broken pages!
Images that won’t work include:
- Square or portrait images (we need that 16:9 widescreen shape)
- Images that are too small (less than 756 pixels tall)
- Really huge images (over 12,000 pixels wide)
- Files over 1 MB
- Other formats like GIFs or TIFFs
Coming Soon
We’re working on adding an easy upload interface so you can add and manage your header images directly from your event dashboard. Stay tuned!
