When I visit a page where I’ve already RSVPd, and I’m pretty sure I checked the box to “share my email address”, it shows me as going, but has “share email” unchecked.
I’m guessing if I RSVP again, it will emit a new event where I’m not sharing?
This current-status-of-logged-in-user probably needs some UX love.
Checking or unchecking that and clicking “RSVP” just sets the state on sharing your email with the event organizer.
When you RSVP and then change the status, it just edits the existing record. It doesn’t delete or recreate the old one.
Yes, I understand. And the way it is designed, doesn’t show me if I shared it or not previously.
It’s both an editing interface and a status interface, and so is confusing to the user.
Hmm, it should be checked if you previously shared. Which event is this for?
The Bug bash event that I rsvp’d too.
I went ahead and checked it and RSVP’d again, and it is now “sticking” as being checked. So, may have been user error in the first place, but still TODO to improve UX.
